Natalia Kuznetsova
Psychologist | Nervous System Regulation & Burnout Recovery | Senior Breath-Body-Mind Teacher

Hello, I’m Natalia. I help people who carry a lot - in their work, families, businesses and communities - recover from chronic stress, exhaustion and overwhelm, and build a steadier nervous system so they can sleep better, think more clearly, have more energy and feel more like themselves again.
A particular focus of my work is supporting women who are used to achieving, taking responsibility and caring for others. Many of the people I work with are highly capable professionals, leaders, entrepreneurs and parents. From the outside, they may still look as if they are coping well. Inside, however, their bodies may be telling a very different story: fragmented sleep, anxiety, irritability, brain fog, constant tension, low energy, difficulty concentrating or the feeling that they simply cannot fully switch off.
This is why my work is not based on telling people to think more positively, try harder or simply relax.
I work body first.
Using gentle, scientifically supported and trauma-informed practices, we help the nervous system move out of persistent stress and gradually regain its capacity for regulation, rest, energy, connection and clear thinking.
How I work
My approach combines psychology with practical nervous system regulation. A central part of my work is Breath-Body-Mind (BBM) - a gentle, integrative method using breathing, movement, attention, sound and other practices to support physical and emotional regulation.
The breathing practices I teach are not about pushing the body, forcing emotional release or doing intense “breathwork.” They are gentle and adaptable, and can be used in everyday life - including during periods of significant stress, fatigue or overwhelm.
Depending on the person and their needs, my individual work may also draw on:
- psychological counselling;
- Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy;
- IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Technique);
- mindful self-compassion;
- attention, imagery and grounding practices;
- practical tools for sleep, energy, anxiety, emotional regulation and recovery from burnout.
I do not believe in a single technique that works for everyone. We look at what is happening in your particular nervous system, your life and your current capacity, and find practices that are realistic enough to actually become part of your life.
Who I work with
I work with adults from different backgrounds, as well as with groups, professional communities and organizations. A particular area of my work is supporting women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, managers and mothers - people who are often very good at taking care of responsibilities while gradually losing their own reserves.
At the same time, my work is not limited to women. I work with both women and men, and I teach nervous system regulation in individual, group, community and professional settings.
You may recognize yourself if you:
- are exhausted but find it difficult to truly rest;
- have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep or waking refreshed;
- feel anxious, wired, irritable or constantly “on”;
- have less energy than you used to and are frustrated that pushing harder no longer works;
- struggle with brain fog, concentration or memory when stressed;
- feel that your body reacts more strongly than your rational mind thinks it should;
- have been carrying responsibility for others for so long that you are not quite sure what you need anymore;
- want practical tools in addition to insight and conversation.
You do not need another perfect routine.
Very often, small practices done consistently are more useful than ambitious recommendations that require energy you simply do not have.
My role is to help you understand what your nervous system is communicating, discover what actually helps, and build a personal set of tools you can use not only when life is calm, but when life is demanding.
Professional background
I am a psychologist with a Master’s degree in Psychology, a Senior Breath-Body-Mind teacher, a counselor in Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy at consultant level, and an IEMT practitioner trained in Integral Eye Movement Technique.
Over the years, my professional work has increasingly focused on the relationship between the body, nervous system, emotions and our ability to function under prolonged stress.
I teach individuals as well as groups and have experience working across cultures and in different settings - from professionals dealing with burnout, anxiety and sleep problems to people living through severe and prolonged stress.
I am also one of the teachers contributing to an online Breath-Body-Mind program for New Yorkers supported by the New York State Office of Mental Health.
As a Senior Breath-Body-Mind teacher, I am involved not only in teaching practices but also in developing the professional BBM community and supporting the training of instructors.
My work with Ukraine
I am Ukrainian, and the experience of the full-scale war has profoundly influenced both my personal life and my professional work.
Since the beginning of the war, I have been actively involved in psychological and nervous system support for Ukrainians, including international Breath-Body-Mind initiatives for people affected by prolonged and extreme stress.
I have also been involved in developing the BBM professional community in Ukraine and expanding access to practical nervous system regulation skills for civilians, professionals, families and other groups affected by war.
Working in this context has taught me something I consider essential: when a person has lived through prolonged stress, insight alone is often not enough. The body needs opportunities to experience safety, regulation and recovery too.
That understanding is now at the heart of all my work - including my work with people living far away from war but dealing with burnout, chronic pressure, major life changes or years of pushing themselves beyond their capacity.
A little more personally
I am also a mother of three, including twin daughters, and I know the reality of trying to combine meaningful professional work, family life and responsibility for other people.
I know what it is like to keep functioning while increasingly exhausted. I also know what it is like when the strategies that worked for years suddenly stop working.
My own experience of burnout, displacement and rebuilding my life has made me deeply interested not only in how people survive difficult periods, but in how we regain curiosity, energy, connection and the capacity to enjoy life afterwards.
I bring that lived understanding into my work, but I do not assume that another person’s experience is the same as mine. I am interested in your nervous system, your circumstances, your strengths and what will genuinely support you.
What I believe
- Your symptoms are information. Sleep problems, anxiety, exhaustion, irritability or brain fog are not simply obstacles to push through. They can tell us something important about how much your system has been carrying.
- The nervous system can learn. Regulation is not something you either have or do not have. It is a capacity that can be supported and strengthened through experience and practice.
- Small steps matter. A practice does not need to be long or impressive to be useful. Sometimes a few minutes, repeated regularly, can begin changing how you feel and function.
- There is no one-size-fits-all solution. Different bodies, histories and circumstances require different approaches.
- Regulation is not the final goal. We regulate so that we have more capacity for the things that matter: relationships, meaningful work, creativity, decisions, pleasure, rest and life itself.
Ways to work with me
I work with individuals and groups and offer nervous system regulation and burnout recovery support, workshops, group programs and Breath-Body-Mind teaching.
My deeper individual work is particularly suited to people who want more than a collection of stress-management tips. Together, we look at patterns affecting your sleep, energy, anxiety, emotional regulation and everyday functioning, while building practical ways to help your nervous system respond differently.
I also work with organizations, leaders, teams, professional communities and international projects interested in practical, scientifically supported and trauma-informed approaches to nervous system regulation, stress resilience and well-being.
Not sure what kind of support would be most useful?
We can start with a short complimentary conversation. You can tell me what has been happening, I can help you look at it through a nervous-system lens, and we can decide whether individual work, one of my programs or another direction would make sense for you.
